A Love Letter To Our Community of Supporters

Updated: 4 days ago

When I first stood in front of a warm and friendly audience, ready to see a quirky film about people who fight for rivers, I introduced the film with; 'this film is about love.'

I say that now at every screening!

Two hundred and fifty warm and friendly Bristoleans cheered and clapped at our IMAX screening in Bristol Aquarium back in April.

The love seen in Rave On For The Avon is that which people have for rivers, and the love they feel back when they swim, stroll, cycle and paddle along them.

I must admit I have felt those warm mushy feelings when I see the support and encouragement so many have shown for this film. People have organised and helped out at screenings, donated to the crowdfunder, written reviews of the film or given it a shout out on socials.

Those who have donated are part of the community credits which you can see in the video below that proudly sit on this website, displaying our cheerleaders and generous supporters.

Thank you, thank you and thank you again. The generosity, cheerleading and word-spreading about the film are what keeps our little team going. I was in tears reading people's lovely reviews on IMDb or Letterboxd recently. If you haven't yet written one please feel free or email one to use and I can proudly add it to the website.

If you would like to keep updated about what is going on your can join our email newsletter list on the website. We have a growing list of screenings that our incredible Sonia has been busy organising (fourteen so far booked Jan-March!). From Penrith in the Lake District, to a cinema boat in London and down to Falmouth in Cornwall, Sonia is spreading the word to local wild-swimming and environmental groups. If you know anyone in those areas then please spread the word too! You can find the links to screenings on the website.

I can't wait to visit these cinemas for each Q&A and panel. I look forward to learning about local campaigns and swim in the nearest river, lake or ocean to each cinema! If you're in the area maybe you could take me to your local spot!

One more time. Thank you, thank you and thank you again!
